NEW BLOG/WEBSITE

My bio (in the “Once upon a time…” page on my new site) indicates I’m a “prolific” blogger, which primarily is a result of observing life’s abusurdities and verbalizing the thoughts that the voices in my head are discussing amongst themselves. Since I have quite an inventory on other sites such as this one on Blogger (and so little time), rather than trying to move them all to my “one stop shop for laughter” I’m going to keep them archived but will start out new…and much like Disney brings films out of the vault will share them here! In addition to some “seriously weird” Comedylove, I’ll also post information, updates…with me you never know! I invite you to share this with your friends, because let’s face it: we could ALL use more humor in our lives! And please subscribe so you don't miss any laughs! Floor It! Road Trip Bag of Fun

This project initially began as an auction donation item...and will soon be available for the public to order and give as a gift!

The Road Trip Bag contains: an autographed copy of "Floor It! Road Trips Down the Humor Highway". This collection of columns includes a fun bonus: a writing prompt at the end of every chapter with journal entry pages so readers can reflect upon and capture their own personal journeys from life's road trips! A pen and a hand-stitched book mark (with the teal ribbon) are included with this book...which is hitting the highway and make a healing difference with what has come to be known as Comedylove. PLUS a portion of proceeds are donated to ovarian cancer organizations. You can also start your engine and spread the awareness with the unique keychain crafted by a creative Titan of Teal!

This week's featured fundraiser is the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance's "Shaken Not Stirred" Gala on March 24th. Sales generated (including this online special I offer to also help promote the event) will result in the organization receiving 50% of the proceeds!

Order your copy of Floor It! (and receive a FREE pen) now through midnight, March 28th to help increase awareness and educate women and their families as well as the health care community about risks, symptoms, and treatment of ovarian cancer leading to earlier detection.

Love, laughs and teal hugs,
Shelly

A Titan Tribute

After last week’s break, this show is dedicated to honoring our Titans of Teal. We’ll find out what makes a Titan special and present a list of notable women through history who were diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Your host shares a “Gilda Moment” and a beautiful poem written by Feel Teal Club founder Deb Stevens. Updates include a call to action by contacting your members of Congress and telling them why ovarian cancer research matters to you. Doing so will determine which federal programs will be funded in fiscal year 2013. Last year the OCNA gave packets of forget-me-not seeds at their Annual Conference hoping attendees would plant the seeds to create a National Garden of Hope. Enjoy two inspiring stories on their blog. We’ve featured several of our Titans on previous shows, and we look forward to introducing more of them to you in the future. Stop by our Titans of Teal website for more info…and we’d be delighted to have you join us! Thank you for keeping it real and feeling the teal. TUNE IN TO FEEL TEAL TALK HERE

One Last Chance

Did you know that that ovarian cancer has a song? Thanks to a collaboration between music producers/engineers and some great vocals, the song "One Last Chance" was born! Thanks to patience and much perseverance, we also have a wonderful video to accompany. Co-producer and designer Loni Reeder is our guest; she encourages everyone to get behind "feel teal" and do their part for the very important cause of awareness! Updates include: A lunch organized by the Cambridge Branch of Wellbeing of Women to improve the statistics that in the UK alone 145 women a week will die of a gynecological cancer, a sponsorship opportunity for the Georgia OC Alliance Bag of Hope to reach 450 of the 600 women in the state of Georgia who will be diagnosed this year, and vital news from the Cancer Institute in reminding ALL women the importance of being aware of symptoms. This week your host shares her take on “The Evolution of Music”. It’s always been a big part of my life and I do believe it's a universal language...as is laughter. This week I sent copies of my book “Floor It!” to Australia where Deb Stevens is generously helping me go global with road trips down the humor highway! A reminder that in addition to your receiving the gift of laughter, 20% of proceeds are donated to ovarian cancer organizations. TUNE IN TO EPISODE 15 OF FEEL TEAL TALK HERE.

Feel Teal Talk: It's a God thing

This show's theme is a recurring "cosmic connection". Christin Nicholson found out about the Feel Teal Club through a connection with our previous guest Julie's daughter, Sarah. In addition to experiencing another very touching tribute, you'll be inspired by how our newest Titan of Teal is setting an example of spreading the message of awareness with her own daughter. Updates include: Endometriosis Linked to Higher Ovarian Cancer Risk, Ovarian Cancer National Alliance FAQ's, read all about it in the February/March issue of Feel Teal Magazine, and news about Teal Ribbon Day in Australia from Deb Stevens. You host shares a behind-the-scenes road trip into "The Making of a Book Video Adventure". Thank you for your continued support of this podcast by keeping it real and feeling the teal! The Wisconsin Ovarian Cancer Alliance announces its Comedy for a Cause event... and Feel Teal Club founder Deb Stevens spreads Ovarian Cancer Awareness at Feel Teal Day with her local community in Australia. Your host (who was not blessed with the arts & crafts gene) shares a blast-from-the-past road trip from her book, "Floor It!" Episode 12: Teal Hope

This week we're featuring yet another Titan who is giving back by sharing her artistic talents. Last week's episode included an introduction to Lee's Hope Jewelry which features a beautiful selection of hand-made, one-of-a-kind creations. Sarah Schlichter Weighknecht is continuing the legacy of her sister, Lee, AND donating 15% of all sales to ovarian cancer research. Updates include Feel the Teal t-shirts available from Choose Hope, a request inspired by last week's "tealmobile" from a woman in Houston who hopes to raise awareness at the nation's largest art car parade, and more exciting news from Deb Stevens. With Valentine's Day coming up, your host shares helpful hints for this heartfelt holiday. Tune in to Feel Teal Talk HERE.

Join us and color outside the lines

The new year is underway with so much energy! My guest, Lisa Kaster, is a tenacious Titan who brought the idea of the Feel Teal awareness quilt project to life. Proof again that what may seem to start out at the grassroots level can go amazing places when you're "takin' it to the streets". Your humorous host, who contributed 2 blocks to the quilt, delves into why she should have paid more attention in Home Ec. WHAT'S HAPPENING ON THE OVARIAN CANCER FRONT? Ringing in a Teal New Year

Our final show for 2011 has a similar format to our "Giving Thanks" episode where our friends had a chance to be featured on Feel Teal Talk! We've received some wonderful hopes and dreams for 2012. In addition to sharing contributions from those who above and beyond defined what a New Year's "resolution" is all about, we're bringing you updates (everything from Congress generously funding Ovarian Cancer Research and Education Programs for the upcoming fiscal year to an awareness slogan that was submitted to appear in a line of apparel), a delightful greeting from Deb (who dedicated a song to ALL of us who are using our "voices" to make a difference), and as always, entertaining you with a bit of humor...this week's topic is unique ways to celebrate including the infamous Talapoosa Possum Drop! Feel Teal Talk wasn't, as defined, a "resolution" at the end of 2010; however it was one of many courses of action the Feel Teal Club has firmly determined to take to spread the message of awareness. 2011 has been an incredible one, and we resolve to continue connecting and spreading the message of awareness as we ring in a Teal New Year.
